EEP Quality Group’s $3.4 million expansion, based on a large contract manufacturing project with Kodak Moments, a division of Kodak Alaris, was celebrated Tuesday.
“The scale of the Kodak Moments kiosk and workstation project puts EEP Quality Group’s engineering, quality and supply chain capabilities on the map for high-volume, high-tech contract manufacturing,” says Jeff Mucha, CEO and managing partner of EEP. “Together, EEP and Kodak Moments are prioritizing the selection of geographically advantageous supply chain partners in Rochester, NY and the surrounding area.”
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the firm’s new 27,000-square-foot facility in Gates, and with it creation of 12 new jobs, enhancing operations for Kodak Moments.
Joe Janinek, director of purchasing and operations for the Kodak Moments Division at Kodak Alaris, calls the project with EEP a partnership that will improve overall cost-effectiveness by optimizing hardware assembly processes for kiosks and workstations. The expansion will allow for greater focus on supply chain management, transportation, quality assurance, and order forecasting.
“We are thrilled about the collaboration we’ve begun and the shared success that awaits us in the years to come,” Janinek says.
The project was supported by Empire State Development through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program with up to $250,000 in exchange for the company’s job creation commitment. EEP Quality EEP Quality Group also worked with Greater Rochester Enterprise.
“The collaboration between local manufacturers like EEP Quality Group and Kodak Alaris to drive growth is a powerful indicator of our region’s economic vitality,” said Matt Hurlbutt, president and CEO of Greater Rochester Enterprise. “We’re proud to have connected EEP with the resources they need – from incentives to workforce development programs – to create valuable manufacturing jobs right here in Greater Rochester, NY.”
EEP Quality Group, whose motto is “Efficient, Effective, Productive,” was founded in 2008 with a staff of three working out of a basement in Rochester. Since then, it has grown to more than 200 employees across three facilities in Western and Central New York.
The firm says its expertise in contract manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, kitting, and packaging helped it secure a competitive project over a firm from South Carolina. EEP predicts more work in the future.
“This is the beginning of a very exciting year, where we anticipate adding two to three more large-scale projects with similar impact,” Mucha said.
