The Raymond Corp. has made another commitment to the area. The company plans to lease a Carriage Street facility in Honeoye Falls, a nearly $1.9 million project that’s expected to create up to 20 jobs.
The site, which is expected to be operational in late 2027, will be used to test and validate fuel cell systems for Raymond’s products. The company received $400,000 in state tax credits from Empire State Development.
“We are proud to expand our footprint in Monroe County as we continue to invest in the Finger Lakes region,” says Michael Field, chief operations officer and former CEO of the Raymond Corp. “This new Honeoye Falls site reflects our shared commitment to creating high-quality jobs and advancing next-generation energy technologies.
“With strong support from Empire State Development and local partners,” he added. “we’re building on our legacy of innovation while driving sustainable economic growth in New York.”
Raymond Corp. is a member of the Toyota Industries family. Based in the Chenango County town of Greene, the company provides technologies and systems that make warehouse and distribution operations function effectively.
“This expansion in Honeoye Falls reflects our strategic focus on advancing clean energy technologies that support our customers and the broader material handling industry,” says Jennifer Lupo, vice president of technology solutions at Toyota Material Handling N.A. “We’re excited to grow our presence in New York and to collaborate with partners who share our commitment to building a more innovative and energy-efficient future.”
This announcement, made Monday, was part of an event marking the opening of TMHNA’s $2 million research and development facility for advanced energy storage solutions in Henrietta. (The Raymond Corp. and Toyota Material Handling are functionally integrated under the name TMHNA.)
Located at 1565 Jefferson Road, the facility will develop energy storage solutions and prototypes, and host a testing center. The site is expected to spark collaboration with area energy storage sources to support its own and Toyota Industries’ advanced energy technology efforts, including lithium-ion batteries and fuel cells. Announced last March, the facility will create up to 40 jobs at the site. This project also received state tax credits.
“We are excited about the Raymond Corp.’s expansion and what it will mean for Monroe County’s economy,” says Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. “Not only will they be creating a combined 60 new jobs at their new advanced energy solutions test center in Henrietta and their new facility in Honeoye Falls, they are continuing to cement Monroe County’s place at the forefront of next-generation energy technologies.”
Monroe County and Greater Rochester Enterprise are also assisting with the projects. Through the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency, the county is assisting with more than $600,000 in sales tax exemptions on materials.
