The Rochester Beacon, in partnership with Upstate Venture Connect, will host “Rebuild Upstate: The View Ahead,” an online discussion with three upstate county executives.
Monroe County’s Adam Bello, Ryan McMahon from Onondaga County and Anthony Picente from Oneida County will discuss their experiences navigating the pandemic and share ideas on rebuilding the regional economy in the coming months. The June 4 session, slated for 12 p.m. on Zoom, is free to attend, but registration is required.
“Understanding how our leaders are facing a common challenge and the new opportunities that will emerge has never been more important for our region’s businesses and innovators,” said Nasir Ali, UVC CEO. “Over the coming months, we will host a number of online conversations with public, private and non-profit leaders that will focus on understanding the challenges ahead and exploring new opportunities to bring our economy roaring back.”
The series is expected to take a close look at challenges and opportunities in sectors such as health care, higher education, retail and hospitality, as well as local government.
“We are excited at the opportunity of speaking to three leading county executives,” said Alex Zapesochny, publisher of the Rochester Beacon. “Their experiences preparing for the pandemic and perspectives on the road ahead will provide valuable insights for residents across the region.”
Smriti Jacob, Rochester Beacon managing editor, will moderate the panel.
The CNY Business Journal, Utica Observer-Dispatch, and Herkimer Times-Telegraph will be covering the event as media partners.
