Rochester Beacon’s first event of the year will be hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology’s MAGIC Center. Panelists will share their paths to entrepreneurship and discuss ways to build the next generation of business founders.
A Rochester Beacon forum this week on ways to fix the city schools drew a packed house. “There are no silver bullets,” keynote speaker Christopher Cerf said. “The key is implementing 100 one percent solutions.”
The challenge of Rochester’s public schools has been the “elephant in the room” in every discussion of poverty and economic development for decades. On May 13, the Rochester Beacon Solutions Forum will explore possible solutions to the problem of Rochester’s underperforming schools.
The Rochester Beacon 2019 Economic Forecast Forum will be hosted by the College at Brockport’s Institute for Poverty Studies and Economic Development. Panelists will discuss the state of the economy in Rochester and throughout New York, the legislative outlook in Albany, and the key challenges and opportunities for the coming year.
